 What is ICEF

ICEF stands for International Culture & Education Foundation. ICEF’s training program offers international students and professionals the opportunity to receive career training in the United States ranging from a period of two to eighteen months. US Department of State has provided internship/traineeship programs to young professionals from foreign countries since early 1960 and more than 30,000 young men and women from all over the world come to US every year to further their careers.

For a trainee, this program provides an opportunity to enhance professional skills in one’s field of endeavor, and gain valuable experience as part of a structured program. Trainees are exposed to American technologies and methodologies, and can improve their expertise to help them achieve their individual career objectives.

Mission and Purpose of ICEF

To provide systematic and efficient consultation service to both ends and to help international businesses implement the J-1 program, International Culture & Education Foundation Inc was formed. Its main service is to help and support those candidates who would otherwise miss out on this J-1 cultural exchange program opportunity.

In this role, ICEF offers a vital link between would-be trainees and American organizations, offering employers a mean by which they can recruit international trainees and facilitate the paperwork needed to obtain a valid J visa.

It is our intention to represent only certain candidates who are serious and ready to embark on this program.

Scope of ICEF’s work

  • Review applicants by reviewing potential intern/trainee candidates’ qualifications to ensure that the program is suitable to the applicants’ background, experience and meets the eligibility criteria stated under the U.S. Department of State exchange program regulations.
  • Conduct English interviews with prospective foreign exchange interns/trainees to determine English proficiency levels.
  • Provide a comprehensive knowledge of American living which is instrumental in helping interns and trainees adjust to living in America. We give interns and trainees orientations on adjusting to U.S. as they arrived in the United States.

ICEF specializes in developing and implementing young professionals and students exchange programs. We have arranged many young international professionals to visit USA to participate internship and training programs in the past.
